The past remembered
As part of the 40th anniversary of the desegregation of the University of Georgia, an exhibit of photographs from the archives of the Associated Press/Wide World Photos and Bettmann/CORBIS is being displayed on campus. The dozen photographs included were shot by various news photographers during the uneasy times of the desegregation of the Athens campus in January 1961 by Hamilton Holmes and Charlayne Hunter (now Hunter-Gault).

The exhibit, assembled by Peter Frey, a photographer in University Communications, will be on display Feb. 15–March 1 at the Holmes/Hunter Academic Building in the Honors Program area.
