Collaborating on doctorates
Three of the first dozen graduates of a new collaborative doctoral program in educational leadership between UGA and Fort Valley State University took part in Commencement at UGA this past December. They are (front row, from left) Mae Sheftall, Lisa Garrett and Cynthia Anderson. On the back row are Julius Scippio, dean of the Graduate School at FVSU; Bill Swan, UGA professor of educational leadership; Curtis Martin, dean of the FVSU College of Education; C. Thomas Holmes, UGA professor of educational leadership; and Jo Blase, UGA professor of educational leadership. The program was developed by education faculty at the two schools at the request of the board of regents.
