Candidates for two positions visit campus, attend open forums
Dean of students
Three finalists for the new position of dean of students will visit campus this month and attend open forums to meet with students, faculty and staff.
The position was created by Richard Mullendore, vice president for student affairs. The incumbent will oversee judicial programs, minority services and programs, Greek life, leadership development programs and international student life.
All of the finalists will attend an open forum in room 142 of the Tate Student Center at 3:30 p.m. on the day of their visit. The finalists, and the dates of their forums, are:
• April 9: Mark Kidd, associate dean of university life, George Mason University;
• April 11: Kevin Bailey, interim associate dean of students, Bowling Green State University;
• April 16: Britt Katz, assistant dean for campus life and director of residence life, Emory University.

Associate provost for international affairs
Campus visits are scheduled for three additional candidates for the position of associate provost for international affairs.
On April 12, Mark Lusk, assistant vice president for research and director of international programs at the University of Montana, will be on campus. An open forum for faculty, staff and students to meet Lusk will be held at 2 p.m. in room 137 of the Tate Student Center.
John Nicholaides, executive vice president of the American Society of Agronomy, will make a campus visit April 27. An open forum is scheduled for 2 p.m. in room 104 Conner Hall.
The third candidate is Jack VandeWater, dean of international programs at Oregon State University and assistant vice chancellor for international programs for the Ore-gon University System. He will visit on April 30 and attend an open forum at 2 p.m. in room 137 of the Tate Center.
Two other candidates for the position were on campus last month: Jim Hollifield, director of international studies at Southern Methodist University, and Daniel Nelson, professor of democratization and civil-military relations at the George C. Marshall Center for European Security Studies in Garmisch, Germany.
