Women in science

A group of students, faculty and staff has recently organized a UGA chapter of the Association of Women in Science, a national organization that is dedicated to achieving equity and full participation for women in science, mathematics, engineering and technology.
The new chapter has produced a constitution and by-laws (available on the Web site) and elected officers for the coming year. They invite participation from interested members of the campus community. The next meeting is April 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the common room in the life science building.
A link to the national organization is also provided on the local Web site.
