Celebration II
The Georgia Museum of Natural History will host Celebration II on May 11, with a reception and dinner at the State Botanical Garden. This will be the museum’s first fund-raising event, to raise support for the museum’s collections and outreach programs.
The event will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30. Tickets are $135 per person, of which $100 is tax-deductible. The deadline for reservations is May 1. For more information, or to make reservations, call 542-1663 or e-mail jdharris@uga.edu.

Rowing coaches
UGA’s men’s and women’s rowing team is looking for a head coach and an assistant coach for the coming fall. Previous coaching experience is not required, although adequate knowledge of rowing is needed.
The club has enjoyed many successes and wishes to continue with an enthusiastic leader. Those interested in coaching should contact Erin Merrion at 353-3230 or Dave Tipton at 380-4788.

International student orientation
The International Student Life office is currently planning a number of changes for the fall 2001 international student orientation. The program will be held Aug. 6-12, a week earlier than previous years, to assist students with their transition to UGA and the Athens community. Orientation sessions will cover traditional information regarding university services and procedures as well as several new initiatives. German exchange committee
The German Exchange Committee at UGA is hosting a reception April 26, 1-4 p.m., at the Five and Ten restaurant in Five Points for the German community at UGA--faculty and staff with German and international interests. The Deputy Consul General of Germany, a representative of the German-American Chamber of Commerce, and the director, executive director and language program director of the Goethe Institute will attend. The reception is free but reservations are required; reservation deadline is April 20.
The committee’s focus is to provide core faculty for study-abroad programs and other intellectual and social activities relating to Germany and Europe. For more information or to make reservations for the reception, contact Charlton Lay, 542-1558 (charlton@franklin.uga.edu).

Rec sports youth camp
Sign-ups for the youth camp sponsored by the department of recreational sports have begun. There will be three sessions: June 18-22, July 9-13 and July 23-27. The children will be divided into four age groups: 6-7-year-olds, 8-9-year-olds, 10-11-year-olds, and 12-14-year-olds. Activities will include soccer, wiffleball, climbing and outdoor games. The fee is $50 per child ($45 for 2 or more children from the same family) plus a $2.50 Ramsey fee. Payment may be made now at the Ramsey Student Center cashier’s window by credit card, check or cash. The 15 spaces per age group for each session will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
