Child-care survey
The presidential committee studying child-care feasibility has developed a survey to learn about the child-care needs of students, faculty and staff. Participation is voluntary, and information will remain anonymous. The survey can be completed in 10-20 minutes.
The survey can be completed on the Web at www.busfin.uga.edu/relations/ (click on “child care survey”). If you prefer to fill out the survey by hand, you can print the form at www.busfin.uga.edu/relations/cc_survey_emp.pdf or you can call Human Resources at 542-9756 to request that a copy be mailed to you.
Completed surveys are due in Human Resources by May 4. Once data is tallied and analyzed, a summary will be provided to the university community. Questions about the survey should be directed to Sige Burden, employee relations coordinator, at 542-9756 or sburden@uga.edu.

Interactive technology
A 304-response-dial system has been installed in north psychology-journalism auditorium for feedback and interaction between students and professor in large lecture settings. The “Learning Analyzer” system, a hard-wired, PC-based datacollection tool, can instantly record the settings on all active dials, analyze data by sub-groups if desired, and display real-time charts to the audience and/or presenter. It has been successfully used for attendance-taking, quizzes and student feedback, as well as class demos, group strategic-planning sessions and much more.
Currently the auditorium’s brand-new capabilities are underutilized. Faculty who want to teach in or use the room, or who are interested in learning about the system’s capabilities, should contact Erick Lauber in the Institute of Higher Education (542-3798; lauber@uga.edu).
