Legion Pool hours
Legion Pool is now open daily until Aug. 25. Operating hours are 11:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. through Aug. 9 and 3-7:30 p.m. Aug. 10-25. The cost of admission for faculty/staff is $2.50; children are $1.50 and guests of faculty/staff are $3.50. Discounted and season passes are available. Call the pool at 542-8235 for additional information.

Delta Prize nominations
Nominations for the 2002 Delta Prize for Global Understanding are now being accepted. The award will be presented in ceremonies next April. Previous honorees include former President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev. The nomination form is at www.uga.edu/news/deltaprize. Academic regalia
The deadline is July 2 for faculty to place orders with the University Bookstore to rent academic regalia for summer commencement (Aug. 4) and Opening Convocation (Aug. 12). Orders may be placed at 542-3171 or by e-mail at sdf065@arches.uga.edu.

Summer softball signups
The department of recreational sports is offering summer softball to all faculty, staff, and fees-paying students. The six-game season begins June 25, with two games per week in Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday slots. A tournament will follow. Signups are on June 18 and 19, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and June 20, 9 a.m.-noon, at the cashier’s window in the Ramsey Student Center. Driver improvement course
The Environmental Safety Division will offer the AAA Driver Improvement Program at no charge to UGA employees. The six-hour course will be taught in two three-hour sessions, from 9 a.m. to noon, on July 26 and 27, Sept. 27 and 28, and Nov. 29 and 30. Cockatoos needed for study
The behavior department at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital is looking for healthy non-feather-picking, individually housed cockatoos to participate in a study of normal preening behavior.
The bird will be videotaped in the owner’s home, and the owner will need to fill out a behavioral history form. Benefits of participation include a free physical exam and a free behavior consultation.
The study will compare the behavior of non-feather-picking birds to feather-picking birds. For further information, call 542-0269 or 542-8116.

UGACard office hours
University IDs are made at the UGACard office in the Tate Student Center. Cost is $7; photo identification must be provided. The office is regularly open weekdays, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. It will be closed for Independence Day July 4.
