Landscapes at the Georgia Museum of Art
Layering brilliant color and building up texture, Thomas Paquette has masterfully captured the essence of nature in richly painted landscapes for more than 10 years. The current exhibition of his work at the Georgia Museum of Art features oils on canvas and works on paper inspired by Paquette’s extensive travels in Greece, France, the British Isles, the United States, and most recently as a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome.
A longtime supporter of land preservation, Paquette has served as artist-in-residence at Yosemite, Acadia and Rocky Mountain national parks and regularly contributes paintings to assist the efforts of the Nature Conservancy, a privately funded international organization dedicated to the protection of the environment and wildlife. His work has received critical acclaim in the New York Times, the Washington Post and elsewhere.
