Spatig is appointed the new associate director of admissions
Robert Spatig has been named associate director of admissions for marketing and recruitment. He succeeds senior associate director John W. Albright, who retired after more than 23 years of service.
Bob brings a wonderful combination of skills, experience and style to the University of Georgia, says Nancy McDuff, director of admissions. We are fortunate to have him join our office. His years of experience in admissions and the different schools with which he has worked will bring new perspective to UGA admissions.
Previously, Spatig served as the interim director and senior associate director of Northeastern Universitys admissions office in Boston. There, he redirected recruitment efforts to include territory management and target marketing. He also implemented a selection process that better reflected Northeasterns institutional mission. Spatigs work in education has taken him from St. Annes-Belford School in Virginia to Cranbrook Schools in Michigan through Wyoming Seminary in Pennsylvania and to Guilford College in North Carolina.
Spatig holds degrees from Vanderbilt and Washington and Lee universities. He belongs to such professional associations as the National Association of College Admissions Counselors, the New England Association of College Admissions Counseling, New England Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Southern Association of College Admissions.
What attracted me to UGA was the impressive academic reputation of the university, especially its widely envied Honors and Foundation Fellows programs, Spatig says.
