University Round Table
Membership applications are now available for the University Round Table, a unique organization that brings together UGA students, faculty and staff and Athens community leaders. Applications are available at the Tate Student Center information desk or in room 210 of the Holmes-Hunter Academic Building.
University Round Table meets twice a semester for dinner and discussion of issues of local importance. Less formal ice cream socials about lighter topics that affect both the community and university are held once a semester.
For more information, check the URT Web site (www.uga.edu/urt) or e-mail urtboard@hotmail.com.

Grant opportunities
The Regional Economic Development Partnership, a consortium of the University of Georgia and University System colleges and universities in southwest Georgia, provides seed money to develop projects in southwest Georgia. Applications are currently being accepted for grant awards of $2,500 to faculty and staff at UGA and other participating institutions. Ideally, activities funded by the REDP will result in the submission of a proposal for external funding. Applicants with projects involving collaborations across disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.
Deadlines for the current grant cycle are Nov. 1 and Jan. 15. For an application, contact Nancy O’Quinn at noquinn@arches.uga.edu or (229) 386-7376.
