JOB DESCRIPTION: “I provide technology support for the college in the areas of instruction, administration and research.” A TYPICAL DAY AT WORK: “It’s very random. I work with faculty on Web sites, software problems and manage the College of Education’s computer labs and work with the lab manager. It’s very hectic; there are a lot of things going on.” MOST REWARDING PART OF MY JOB: “The thing I enjoy most about my job is working with the people I work with--the faculty and staff here. I really like knowing that what I’m doing with the faculty is somehow affecting the students.” MOST CHALLENGING PART OF MY JOB: “There are so many needs in our college and campus-wide. It is overwhelming because there is not enough time, money or people to satisfy those needs.” OTHER UGA EXPERIENCE: “I graduated from the art department with a master of fine arts degree in 1996. I worked in the computer area of the UGA bookstore, and I also worked at the graduate school for about a year.” OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE: “Before I came to UGA I was a student--and teaching assistant--at Iowa State University.” IF I WERE NOT DOING THIS JOB, I WOULD MOST LIKE TO: “Be a stay-at-home mom with a studio in my house where I would work on my artwork and be with my three-year-old son, Austin.” THE PERSON I MOST ADMIRE: “My husband, Paul, who is a paramedic in Athens. Our worlds are so different. My world is safe, and he wears a bullet-proof vest when he goes to work every day. The things he sees amazes me. I admire the fact that he’s able to come home and still be such a caring father and husband.” OFF-THE-JOB INTERESTS: “Art, family, spending time with my husband and son. I also enjoy cooking.” FAVORITE MUSIC: “I am very eclectic when it comes to music. I like just about everything.” A BOOK I WOULD RECOMMEND TO OTHERS: “My favorite books that I just finished reading are the Harry Potter series.” THE ISSUE THAT CONCERNS ME MOST ABOUT TODAY’S WORLD: “I see a lot of people striving for the brand new house with a three-car garage and giving their kids designer clothes but they are not really focusing on what’s important.
