College of Pharmacy names assistant dean Lori Duke, former director of experience programs for the College of Pharmacy, has been named assistant dean for experiential programs. In her new position, Duke will oversee and manage the advanced practice (clerkship) and introductory practice experience programs for the College of Pharmacy. Her responsibilities include negotiating affiliation agreements, maintaining student immunization records, developing and evaluating practice sites and handling student assignments and concerns related to experience programs. Duke will continue to work with the regional coordinators in Savannah and Atlanta to accomplish goals related to the clerkship program. Duke, who joined the pharmacy colleges faculty in 1997, became a public service associate in 2000. She previously held faculty positions at the University of Texas in Austin, the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals. Duke earned bachelors and doctors degrees in pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed a specialized residency and a research fellowship in critical care pharmacy at the Medical College of Virginia.
