Lilly, Senior Teaching Fellows announced

The Office of Instructional Support and Development has named eight faculty members Senior Teaching Fellows and nine faculty members Lilly Fellows for 2001-2002.

This years Senior Teaching Fellows are JoBeth Allen, language education; Bob Boehmer, insurance, legal studies and real estate; Bob Brussack, law; Mark Harrison, food science and technology; Nancy Kropf, social work; Charles McCall, clinical and administrative services; Charlotte Wallinga, child and family development; and David Williams, religion.
Established in 1987, the Senior Teaching Fellows Program provides senior faculty an opportunity to share ideas with dedicated, highly motivated, and innovative teachers from other disciplines who face similar teaching challenges; opportunities for professional and personal renewal; and funding for an instructional project designed to strengthen their courses and teaching methods.
This years Lilly Fellows are Carolina Acosta-Alzuru, advertising and public relations; Karen Cornell, small animal medicine; Tim Dore, chemistry; Joe Hermanowicz, sociology; Asen Kirin, art; Jim Lauderdale, cellular biology; William Lewis, management information systems; Trisha Reeves, social work; and Ron Walcott, plant pathology.
Established in 1984, the Lilly Teaching Fellows Program provides junior tenure-track faculty members with an opportunity to enhance their teaching skills by sharing ideas and strategies, by interacting with senior faculty mentors who are master teachers, and by designing and implementing instructional projects to strengthen their courses and teaching methods. Fellows selected to participate in the program have demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching and to the improvement of teaching at UGA. Participants are exceptional teachers who are interested in further developing the teaching and learning environment in the courses they teach.
