Public Service conference
Former White House chief of staff and well-known expert on health issues Hamilton Jordan will be a featured speaker at the 2002 Public Service and Outreach conference, Bridging Research and Outreach for a Better Georgia and Nation, to be held Jan. 31 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach and the Office of the Vice President for Research. Registration is $40; a copy of Jordans bestseller, No Such Thing as a Bad Day, is included in the price of registration. For more information, please call Melanie Baer at 542-4643.
Training classes
The Georgia Center for Continuing Education will offer Microsoft Office training classes in February and March in Word 2000, Excel 2000, Access 2000, PowerPoint 2000, and Publisher 2000.
All classes will be held at the Georgia Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
The Microsoft Office Suite Certificate will be presented to those participants who complete all training classes. Businesses that send two employees to the training classes will receive a third registration for free. Participants will learn how to increase office productivity through the effective use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.

User certification
The Georgia Center for Continuing Education will offer Microsoft Office User Specialist--MOUS--certificate courses (Excel 2000 Expert Level) on Wednesdays, April 3-May 18. Classes will be held 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. in computer lab A on the fifth floor of the Georgia Center. The 30-hour five-session program will be taught by Microsoft User Specialist authorized instructor Marsha LeCroy.
