Grady College names associate dean of academic affairs
Dean Krugman, department head of advertising and public relations, has accepted the position of associate dean of academic

affairs at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. His responsibilities as associate dean will include planning and managing curriculum, overseeing labs and studios, student affairs, evaluating staff and more.
Krugman joined the Grady College in 1983 and spent five years serving as its graduate studies coordinator. He has been a member of the advertising faculty and head of the advertising and public relations department for the past six years.
Bringing more than 19 years of Grady College experience to the position, Krugman has received awards for superior teaching and was cited as an outstanding teacher at UGA in 1989, 1993, 1994 and 1995. In 1991, graduate students in the college presented him with a separate award for his contribution to the instructional program. He was named to the UGA Teaching Academy in 2000.
Krugmans research expertise concerns the way in which people consume media. He has published numerous articles on audience behavior and has been given the outstanding research article awards by the Journal of Advertising and the Society of Teacher of Family Medicine.
Krugman received both a Ph.D. in communications research (1977) and an M.A. in advertising (1972) from the University of Illinois at Urbana.
I am pleased Dean has accepted the position of associate dean of academic affairs, says John Soloski, dean of the Grady College. This is yet another symbol of his commitment to excellence at the college, and I look forward to working with him.

Stewart, associate director, University Computing and Networking Services, 27 years, 5 months; and Margaret Tharpe, county secretary, Cooperative Extension Service, West district, 21 years, 1 month.
