Lineup for 2002-03 Performing Arts Center season announced

Office of Performing Arts Director Timothy A. Bartholow has announced the roster of artists for the Performing Arts Center’s 2002-2003 season. The season will include 30 performances in seven series.
Orchestral concerts will include the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and the Hungarian National Philharmonic, in addition to two appearances by the Atlanta Symphony. The Dance Festival will feature the return of the Atlanta Ballet, along with a performance by Russia’s Georgian State Dance Company and the Shanghai Ballet performing a traditional Chinese story ballet entitled The White-Haired Girl.
The Showtime series offers an eclectic mix of popular entertainment. The Traditions series includes the Butch Thompson Trio and Atlanta’s own Cowboy Envy, a trio of talented women performing Western music.
The current season set two new subscription sales records for the Performing Arts Center. The center also is completing its fourth year of concert broadcasts on National Public Radio’s Performance Today, and this year expanded its educational programs, offering master classes and lecture/demonstrations to students throughout Georgia.
Subscriptions to the 2002-03 season are on sale now. Subscribers save up to 33 percent off single-ticket prices and are entitled to flexible exchange privileges if they are unable to attend one of their regularly scheduled concerts.
