Transportation options
Staff Council’s Alternative Transportation Committee is sponsoring three options the week of Earth Day:
• Bike to Work Day: On April 22, UGA employees can ride to work in a large group by joining a bike pool. For information, see www.bikeathens.com.
• Try Transit Day: On April 24, UGA employees will be able to ride to and from work for only 25 cents a ride. Information is available at www.athenstransit.com.
• Carpool Day: Using your Arches account, register for a carpool at www.parking.uga.edu/carpooling.html and test out the concept on Carpool Day, April 25.

Georgia Center parking
The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education is now providing parking validation for diners at the Savannah Room restaurant and the Courtyard Café.
Patrons can have their South Campus parking deck ticket validated with a $4 minimum purchase. Patrons of the Savannah Room will receive two hours of validated parking and patrons of the Courtyard Café will receive one hour of validated parking in the deck. Dining validation is not available with any other parking pass.
For more information, call Ruby Heaton at the Georgia Center at 542-6741.

TOEFL preparation
The American Language Program will offer an intensive preparation course for the Test of English as a Foreign Language during the May term. Classes will be on campus, Monday through Friday, 6-8:30 p.m. Students will practice skills and learn test-taking strategies, including managing time during the test and recognizing typical wrong-answer choices.
Extensive review of grammatical structures, idioms and vocabulary is included. Weekly complete practice tests will evaluate progress. Students will receive priority for registration for UGA’s TOEFL given at the end of the May term.
Registration deadline is April 26. To register, visit the American Language Program office at 1280 South Lumpkin Street. For more information, call 542-4095 or e-mail the instructor, Glenn Hawes, at glenn_hawes@gactr.uga.edu.
