This year 42 graduating students have been declared First Honor Graduates for maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average during their academic careers at UGA. They were recognized at Honors Day earlier this month. UGA began recognizing First Honor Graduates in 1978 instead of designating a graduating senior as valedictorian. Those recognized at Honors Day included six students who completed degree requirements at the end of last summer and fall semesters, and 36 who will complete requirements at the end of the current semester.
