NASULGC examines challenges of ag education, research UGA will host the fourth in a series of listening sessions for the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges Food and Society Project and National Coalition for Food and Agricultural Research June 3 at the Tate Student Center. This session will bring together leaders in land-grant institutions throughout the South to talk about the challenges that face the agricultural education and research system. Americans enjoy an abundance of safe, wholesome food at a very reasonable price, says Gale Buchanan, dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. This highly enviable situation can be accounted for by several things, but high on the list is the excellent agricultural research and education system that we have come to depend upon. Recent federal budget cuts have put that system in jeopardy. NASULGC intends this program as a way of letting those involved share views. The Southeastern Stakeholders Listening Session will begin at 8 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.
