Staff Council elects four new officers

Tony Hughey, a pharmacy technician in the College of Veterinary Medicine teaching hospital, is the new president of Staff Council.
Hughey, who has worked in the teaching hospital more than 21 years, was elected at the councils June meeting and will assume office in July. He has been a member of Staff Council since 1994 and was vice president this year.
He has been chair of the councils Needs and Concerns Committee since 1995 and was co-chair of the councils Employee Support Program. He represented the council on the presidents task force on sexual harassment and the presidents child care study committee.
Other Staff Council officers are vice president, Sandy Smith, a senior administrative secretary in the College of Education; coordinator, Melanie Andrews, office manager in the Office of Legal Affairs; and recording secretary, Bonnie Norwood, a senior administrative secretary in the Corporate and Foundation Relations Office. |
