Tricia Kalivoda has been appointed associate vice president designee for public service and outreach, pending approval of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. The appointment was effective Oct. 1.
Kalivoda comes to public service and outreach from her position as assistant vice president for academic affairs in the Office of the Provost. She will succeed the current associate vice president, Helen Mills, who plans to retire in March 2003.
Dr. Kalivoda has worked closely with our office since she joined the Office of the Provost in 2000, says Art Dunning, vice president for public service and outreach. In her 17 years at UGA, she has shown a remarkable commitment to service both on campus and in the community. She will be a welcome and valuable addition to our executive staff.
Concurrent with her position as assistant vice president of academic affairs, Kalivoda has served as adjunct assistant professor in UGAs Institute of Higher Education and as coordinator of faculty development in the universitys Office of Instructional Support and Development. Since 1997, she has served as co-coordinator of the Lilly Teaching Fellows Program, the Senior Teaching Fellows Program and the New Faculty Colloquium. She also has served on numerous planning and search committees throughout campus.
I am honored and delighted by this appointment, Kalivoda says. I look forward to working diligently on the pressing issues related to the well-being of our campus and our communities--local, state, regional and global. |
