Course reserves
The deadline for instructors to submit materials to be placed on reserve at the main and science libraries for spring semester is Nov. 15. Materials submitted by that date will be ready for use by the first day of classes. Materials received after that date will be processed as quickly as possible, in the order in which they were received.
Reserve lists may also be submitted electronically (www.libs.uga.edu/maincirc/onlinereserve.html).
For further information, contact the main library (542-0639; mainresv@uga.edu) or the science library (542-4535; sciresv@uga.edu).

Fulbright workshops
The Office of International Affairs is conducting workshops for faculty and students interested in applying for a Fulbright grant. The workshops will be held in room 139 of the Tate Student Center on Nov. 4. The workshop for faculty will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m., and it will include a panel discussion by former Fulbright grant recipients. The workshop for students is from 4 to 5 p.m. and will be conducted by the Fulbright faculty adviser for undergraduate and graduate applicants.
A reception for all current and former Fulbright grantees will be held Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. on the top floor of Rusk Hall. All faculty at UGA who have been awarded a Fulbright grant are welcome.
To reserve space for workshops or R.S.V.P. for the reception, e-mail Shelli Bond at sdbond@uga.edu.

Osteoporosis study
Researchers in the department of foods and nutrition are conducting a study to investigate the effects of soy isoflavones (plant hormones found in soybeans) on bone mineral density. Postmenopausal women between the ages of 40 and 60 who have not been diagnosed with osteoporosis and are not taking estrogen or hormone replacement therapy may qualify. Participants cannot be vegetarian and must be willing to take soy isoflavones on a daily basis for two years. Benefits include free bone mineral density measurements, vitamin and mineral supplements, dietary assessment, blood analyses and modest compensation. Call Tonya Dalton at 583- 0040 or e-mail opus@fcs.uga.edu for more information.

UGACard office hours
University IDs are made at the UGACard office in room 320 in the Tate Student Center. Cost is $7; affinity cards are $10. Photo identification must be provided.
Employees and dependents must be included in the appropriate database before the card can be made; students must complete OASIS registration first. Cards for dependents require submission of a request form at least five working days in advance.
The office is regularly open weekdays, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. It will be closed for fall break on Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
The UGACard office also produces passport, immigration and résumé photos for $8 for a set of two.
For additional information, or to report lost or stolen cards, call 542-8549 or 542-8074.
