Academic affairs faculty symposium set for April; nominations sought

The planning committee for the seventh annual Academic Affairs faculty symposium is seeking nominations for faculty participants for the April 11-12 meeting at Unicoi Lodge and Conference Center.

This year's theme is "Culture of the Undergraduate Experience in the University of Georgia Academic Community." George Kuh, professor of higher education at Indiana University, is the keynote speaker. Kuh, who has written more than 100 books, monographs and articles, is the author of Involving Colleges: Successful Approaches to Fostering Student Learning and Development Outside the Classroom.

Participants in the symposium will look at the quality of the undergraduate experience at UGA, which ties in with President Knapp's appointment of a task force to examine the quality of life of students at the university.

Faculty may nominate themselves or other faculty. Nominations should be sent by March 1 to Sam Davis by either e-mail (sdavis@uga.cc.uga.edu) or fax (542-0419).
