Connect Online: Web Learning Adventures is designed to help middle school students learn how to use telecommunications and the Web. The textbook is co-authored by Lynne Schrum, an associate professor in UGAs instructional technology department, and Gwen Solomon, who is director of TechLearning.com.
For middle school students beginning the online journey, Connect Online helps them get started in a logical, smart way. For students who have wandered around the Internet, this book will help them figure out the best things to do online and the best ways to get there.
From the very first chapter, students will find some exciting things to do. Theyll get a taste of how and what they will learn by checking out whats available online. Some of the things theyll see will clue them into finding information, connecting with people, conducting research, asking for expert advice, taking a field trip, getting news and opinions, shopping and managing money. There are activities students can use in almost every subject. The books goal is to offer students appropriate learning activities to understand the curricular power of the World Wide Web. |
