Writing-intensive program accepting proposals
The Franklin College Writing Intensive Program is accepting proposals through Feb. 17 for courses that encourage writing in the disciplines at UGA.
The program involves undergraduates in writing for critical inquiry, research and scholarly communication. Assignments with chances for feedback and revising are key parts of writing-intensive courses. Faculty also teach the types and uses of writing that are important in a field. Writing-intensive courses at UGA have ranged across the sciences and the humanities.
Approximately 40 writing-intensive courses will be selected for academic year 2003-04. The college awards to selected courses a teaching assistant who is trained to work with students on their writing and to support faculty.
Guidelines for course proposals, forms for submitting proposals, and program information are available at www.english.uga.edu/wip or mballif@uga.edu.
Bulletin board is limited to announcements from campus-based organizations whose membership includes UGA faculty and/or staff.
