‘CARING’ EFFORT RECOGNIZED--Rubielen Norris (second from left), director of the United Way of Northeast Georgia, recognized UGA’s physical plant for participation in this past fall’s Day of Caring. Representing physical plant were (from left) Gene Austin, director of operations and maintenance; Ralph Johnson, associate vice president for physical plant; and Dexter Adams, director of grounds. This past September, 36 staff members from the grounds and operations and maintenance departments spent a day in maintenance and landscape chores at the Athens Neighborhood Health Center, the Athens Community Council on Aging and the Family Counseling Service.
