SREL names new environmental health and safety manager
UGAs Savannah River Ecology Laboratory has named Donald Mosser as its new environmental health and safety manager. Mosser has been at SREL for 12 years and has a B.A. in biological sciences and chemistry from Coker College. He received radiation safety officer training from Emory University and laser safety officer training from the Laser Institute of America. Prior to his appointment as environmental health and safety manager, Mosser was SRELs safety officer under Warren Safter, who retired this past year from the position.
The SREL environmental health and safety manager is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive program in accordance with SRELs cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy. SRELs environmental health and safety program provides for the occupational safety of SREL personnel and the assurance of responsible environmental practices in SRELs operations and research activities.
Grady College has new public service, outreach director
The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication has announced the appointment of Diane Murray as its public service and outreach director.
A 1989 Grady College alumnus, Murray directs the public service and outreach efforts of the Grady College, including coordinating existing programs, identifying initiatives and developing new programs. Murray began her career at Georgia Tech and most recently served as the continuing education coordinator for UGA at the Gwinnett University Center. Her work there involved developing and coordinating continuing education and professional development programs for residents in Gwinnett County and surrounding communities.
