School of Public and International Affairs names associate dean
Jerome S. Legge Jr., a member of the UGA political science faculty since 1980 and a professor in the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, has been named associate dean of the School of Public and International Affairs.
Since 1981, Legge has been director of the master of public administration degree program and has served as graduate coordinator for public administration programs. He has been elected to the department of political science faculty executive committee every year since 1985. Legge was elected this past year to represent the School of Public and International Affairs on the University Council and Graduate Council. He has taught graduate courses in the public administration program and undergraduate courses in the political science curriculum. His research addresses public policy issues in an international context, as illustrated in his forthcoming book, Jews, Turks and Other Strangers: The Roots of Prejudice in Modern Germany (University of Wisconsin Press).
College of Pharmacy names continuing education director
Paul Brooks has been named director of postgraduate continuing education and outreach at the College of Pharmacy. Brooks joined the faculty in 1995 to direct the development and implementation of the colleges Nontraditional Doctor of Pharmacy program and other distance-learning programs.
Prior to coming to UGA, Brooks was accreditation associate for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He also has held faculty appointments with the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy and Duke University Family Medicine.
Born in Atlanta, Brooks received his doctor of pharmacy degree from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy. He completed an ASHP-accredited residency in Huntsville, Ala., and a postdoctoral fellowship at UGA.
