Summer activities
Several UGA units plan summer programs for youngsters. Call the number listed for registration information:
SAUGA (or the Summer Academy at the University of Georgia) is sponsored by Business and Community Programs at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
It is a coeducational summer enrichment camp for 10-16-year-olds. Each week campers address a different topic. The academy meets at the Georgia Center June 9-July 31, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Call 542-353 or check www.gactr.uga.edu/bcp/summer_academy.
Give Plants a Voice Conservation Camp is sponsored by the State Botanical Garden for children 9-11 years old. Cost is $75 per child per week ($70 for members).
Camp meets in the conservatory, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. First session begins June 16. Call 542-6156.
Garden Earth Science Camp is sponsored by the State Botanical Garden for children 6-8 years old. Cost is $55 per child per week ($50 for members). Camp meets in the conservatory, 9 a.m.-noon. First session begins June 23. Call 542-6156.
Sweet Pea Family Camp is sponsored by the State Botanical Garden for children 3-5 years old and a parent or guardian. Cost is $40 per child per week ($35 for members). Camp meets in the conservatory, 9 a.m.-noon. First session begins July 21. Call 542-6156.
