SARS information
The University Health Center has added information regarding severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) to its Web site at www.uhs.uga.edu. There is a segment addressed specifically to students and spouses arriving from SARS-affected areas as well as more general information for UGA faculty and staff (www.uhs.uga.edu/generalhealth/SARS_fs.html).
The site describes SARS and its symptoms and explains the significance of travel advisories and travel alerts posted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (and available on the CDC Web site at www.cdc.gov/travel/). Risks and protection are explained, along with procedures to follow when someone has been exposed to SARS.
