Logistical support manager receives pharmacys Employee of the Year Award
By Sheila Roberson

Ken Schroder has been aptly described as the classic jack of all trades. As the logistical support manager, he is responsible for evaluating and coordinating all renovation, repair and new construction projects in the college and serves as liaison with other UGA personnel for security and safety, telephone installation and line maintenance, property control and vehicle maintenance. It is because of his behind-the-scenes work for the colleges faculty and staff that he has been named the colleges employee of the year.
I think this recognition comes from many years of wearing many different hats in support of the operations of the college, says Schroder. My job is made up of lots of little pieces that add up to a big job.
One of his biggest, and most recent, undertakings was overseeing several projects dealing with the renovation of research labs and office space for Vasu Nair, newly appointed head of the department of pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. Schroder began working at the college in 1988 as a library assistant II and later became a media utilization specialist. In his current position, which he has held for 11 years, he has been described as an irreplaceable employee, whose diligence and constant involvement is what it takes to make projects happen.
The pharmacy employee of the year receives $1,000 and an engraved plaque. |
