Nonprofit board seminar
The management department is offering a seminar for board members of nonprofit organizations at the Tate Student Center on Sept. 17. Topics include strategic planning, fund raising and working with volunteers. There is no charge. For more information or to register, call 542-3750.
Faculty research grants
Proposals are now being accepted for internal financial support of research projects through the Faculty Research Grants Program sponsored by the UGA Research Foundation. The program is intended to encourage strong programs of research and creative scholarship by junior faculty members throughout the university. Eligibility is limited to instructors and assistant professors with tenure-track appointments, and to individuals holding appointment as permanent assistant research scientists.

Application deadline is Oct. 7.
Business & Community Programs registration
Registration is under way for the many short courses being offered this fall by Business and Community Programs. Most classes meet at the Georgia Center. Courses are described on the Web (www.gactr.uga.edu/bcp/index.html). For information, call 542-6690 or e-mail BCPquestions@gactr.uga.edu.
