Student nominees sought for educational training series

By Mary Sue Kopecko

The UGA Leadership Education and Development Series invites faculty and staff to nominate students for its LeaderShape Institute and the B.I.G. Event. Nominations are due by March 20.

The LeaderShape Institute, June 14-19, is an intensive educational experience to help young adults lead with integrity. Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors gain valuable leadership skills and are inspired then to return to their campus organizations with a powerful vision for change. Student applications are available at 300 Academic Building or at the Tate Center Information Desk.

The B.I.G. (Busily Involved at Georgia) Event brings together 200 freshmen during the summer to meet each other and learn how to get involved in campus activities. Big Motivators on Campus (BMOCs) are chosen to lead the freshmen at the event.

UGA LEADS seeks BMOCs who are rising juniors or seniors with prior leadership experience, a commitment to UGA and a genuine desire to work with incoming freshmen.

To nominate students, contact Kim Wuenker by telephone (542-1131), fax (542-8817) or e-mail (wuenkerk@acad.judprog. uga.edu). Provide the student's name, current address and social security number, if possible. For more information about the programs, visit the UGA LEADS web site at www.judprog.uga.edu/lead.htm.
