Flu shots
The University Health Center will offer flu shots for students, faculty, staff and faculty emeritus beginning Oct. 6. Vaccinations will be offered by appointment on Monday through Friday. Walk-in hours are Tuesday-Friday, 1-4:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for students and $15 for faculty and staff and may be paid with cash, check, debit or credit card. The health center will not file insurance for this service; however, a receipt for individual filing will be provided. A UGACard ID must be presented.
The health center will also offer flu shots on a walk-in basis between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 16 in the veterinary medicine building, on Oct. 23 at the Student Learning Center, on Nov. 4 at Boyd Graduate Studies Research Center and on Nov. 6 at the main library. Payment by cash or check is required at sites outside the health center.
For additional information or to schedule an appointment call 542-5575 or check the UHC Web site at www.uhs.uga.edu.

Mentor training
The Clarke County Mentor Program is a broad-based, grass-roots program that was developed to provide much-needed individual support for public school students, kindergarten through 12th grade. Mentors serve as role models, confidants and friends, motivating students to strive towards excellence both academically and personally. UGA’s divisions of external affairs and public service and outreach are partners in the mentor program, and many UGA faculty and staff serve as mentors.
A training session for new mentors is scheduled for Oct. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the new Athens-Area Chamber of Commerce building, 246 West Hancock Avenue. A second training session is planned for Nov. 11. For more information, or to sign up for the training, call Trudy Bradley at 353-2288.

University Woman’s Club
The October meeting of the University Woman’s Club--an early Halloween spectacular--is scheduled for Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Central Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. The program, entitled “A Cross-Cultural Covey of Ghosts,” will be presented by Genelle Morain.

Enrichment fund
The Student/Faculty Enrichment Fund was established by the president to encourage and promote informal interaction between students and faculty outside the classroom. The funding helps faculty members host informal gatherings for undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in their classes.
The guidelines and reimbursement forms can be downloaded from the student affairs Web site (www.uga.edu/studentaffairs/vpsa/enrichment.html).
For more information, call John Ayoob, 542-8294.

Benefits enrollment
During the annual enrollment period, scheduled this year for Oct. 14-Nov. 14, employees can enroll, change or cancel coverage in many university benefits, such as:
• health insurance: enroll, change or cancel coverage;
• dental insurance: enroll (active employees only), decrease or cancel coverage;

• med-flex: enroll for 2004;
• dependent care: enroll for 2004;
