The MacArthur Fellows Program is designed to emphasize the importance of the creative individual in society. Candidates are nominated, evaluated and selected through a rigorous and confidential process. No one may apply for the awards, nor are any interviews conducted with nominees.

A taste of college life: UGA hosts weekend for parents, families

On Oct. 17 and 18, the university will hold its fourth annual Parents and Families Weekend for all parents and families of UGA undergraduate students.
“The weekend offers family members an opportunity to visit on their student’s turf and to experience campus together,” says Marjie Graham, director of the Parents and Families Association. “The parents of new students, especially, have a whole new set of questions now that their sons and daughters are living away from home.”
