Increasingly, the Web is serving as a repository for research results that can thus be made available to other researchers. This site is hosted at UGA on a server in the laboratory of Jessica Kissinger, assistant professor of genetics and a genomicist and bioinformaticist member of the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases. It deals with the genome database for Trypanosoma cruzi, the parasite that causes Chagas disease.
In addition to the database itself, funded by the American Heart Association, the site offers links to information about Chagas disease and tools for use with the database. Publication on the database will appear in January.
