UGACard office hours
University IDs are made at the UGACard office in room 320 in the Tate Student Center. Cost is $15. Photo identification must be provided.
Old UGACards can still be exchanged through Dec. 19 for $3. Cards issued (to faculty, staff, dependents, retirees and students) before June 9, 2003, will no longer be effective after Jan. 2, 2004.
Employees and dependents must be included in the appropriate database before the card can be made; students must complete OASIS registration first. Cards for dependents require submission of a request form at least five working days in advance.
The office is regularly open weekdays, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. It will be closed for semester break Dec. 25-Jan. 4.
The UGACard office also produces passport, immigration and résumé photos for $8 for a set of two.
For additional information, or to report lost or stolen cards, call 542-8549 or 542-8074.

Heating during break
Physical Plant will reduce building heating levels and shut down some air conditioning systems over the year-end break, Dec. 25-Jan. 2. Some buildings may be uncomfortably cold or warm, depending on the weather conditions.
Animal quarters are the sole blanket exception and will remain at normal temperatures. Other requests for exception will be considered on a case-by-case basis; department heads should contact Gene Austin, director of operations and maintenance (Chicopee Complex; 542-7680; gpaustin@uga.edu), no later than Dec. 18. Exceptions will be limited to large gatherings, pre-arranged seminars, critical research conditions and other exceptional cases.

Innovation posters
The theme of the 2004 Public Service and Outreach annual meeting, scheduled for Jan. 29 at the Georgia Center, will be “Building Economic Prosperity: Partnering to Break the Cycle of Poverty.” A poster session will deal with research, evaluation of intervention projects, and instructional innovation dealing with poverty and related factors. As many as 32 posters representing a variety of disciplines will be selected.
The deadline for poster proposals is Dec. 19. To submit a proposal, send three copies of a 150-word abstract, diagram of poster layout, and cover page (title, authors, unit affiliation, e-mail and phone numbers) to Sharon Y. Nickols, Family and Consumer Sciences, 224 Dawson Hall. Presenters will be notified of selection by Jan. 9.

Bulletin board is limited to announcements from campus-based organizations whose membership includes UGA faculty and/or staff.
