Art images available online
With the development of ArtSTOR, an online database of about 300,000 works, art schools across the country can retire their slide collections. The database is the work of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Most of the images came from the extensive library and slide collection of the University of California at San Diego. Annual subscriptions to the database are available to colleges on a sliding scale, from $1,200 to $20,000.

Armed students break into Mexican university to steal case reports
Dozens of case reports were stolen by 50 masked and armed students from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in an attempt to thwart disciplinary action against the students for prior violent actions on campus. The students took control of a building in southern Mexico City and fought back against police, wounding an officer. The police arrested 18 people, but released some pending further investigation. Confusion in this case stems from determining who is actually enrolled at the university, which claims more than 270,000 students.
