Portrait on loan.
The portrait of Benjamin Harrison Jr. (1783) by the well-known American artist Charles William Peale is on view at the Georgia Museum of Art through the month of April. On loan from the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, the portrait will be displayed with two other Peale paintings from the museum's permanent collection.

Oxford Program lecture
David Bradshaw, fellow and tutor in English at Worcester College, Oxford University, will speak on "Red Trousers, White Jackets, Green Shirts: Lady Chatterley's Lover and the Revival of England" on April 10 at 4 p.m. in 265 Park Hall, with a reception following. He has served for several years with the UGA at Oxford program, instructing both graduate and undergraduate students in modern British literature, and his talk is part of a month-long visit which will include teaching several undergraduate and graduate classes. Stampede rodeo
The Great Southland Stampede Rodeo, sponsored by the UGA Block and Bridle Club, is scheduled for Stegeman Coliseum April 1719, beginning at 8 p.m. each night. Admission is $9 on Thursday, $10$14 on Friday and Saturday.
First Tresp Lecture
The Honors Program is sponsoring the first annual Lothar L. Tresp Lecture at 5 p.m. April 10 in the Chapel. Speaker Richard D. Friedman is professor of law at the University of Michigan; his topic is "Race, Religion, Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll, Jury Selection (. . . and the O.J. Simpson Case)." Traditional Irish music
The Chieftains have been performing traditional--and not-so-traditional--Irish music for international audiences for 33 years. They'll perform at the Classic Center Theatre in downtown Athens as part of University Union's Forte series on April 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20$30 (students $10$15) from the cashier's window in the Tate Student Center (542-8074, open 9 a.m.4 p.m.).
Community art exhibition
The fourth annual Community Programs Art Exhibit is on display in Hill Atrium of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education through May 16. An opening reception, "An Afternoon of Art and Literature," will be held April 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. with guitar accompaniment by instructor David Mitchell. 17-year-old pianist
Adam Neiman, winner of the 1996 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, will perform in Ramsey Hall of the Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. April 12.
