Login…National survey ranks UGA 10th most connected campus

The university’s PAWS system—Personal Access Wireless/Walkup System—provides students, faculty and staff wireless access to the Internet and to UGA networking resources.

UGA is among the universities that are setting the pace for campus-wide connectivity, according to a recent survey conducted by the Princeton Review. UGA placed 10th in the magazine’s rankings of “America’s Most Connected Campuses.” More than 350 top universities and colleges were analyzed for the survey, with only the top 25 schools being ranked.

The survey looked at the ratio of students to computers, along with a list of 20 criteria regarding campus technological sophistication. The criteria included the availability of a campus network, the existence of a wireless network, whether students can register for courses and conduct other administrative tasks on line, and whether the school streams audio or video of its courses.
