Offices in Old College are relocated to Franklin House
All offices located in Old College except the Office of Public Affairs moved to the Franklin House during the week of Jan. 18. This includes Faculty Affairs, Budget Review, Curriculum, Academic Honesty, and the Office of the Vice President for Instruction.

Telephone numbers and the university Zip+four codes will remain the same.

The move is necessary because Old College will be vacated for renovation. It will be rededicated in 2006, which is the 200th anniversary of its construction. Franklin House is located at the corner of Broad and Thomas streets, next to the Business Services Building. Offices in Franklin House can be reached by entering the rear of the building and taking the elevator to the floor of the office you need to visit.

Two new staff members join Sponsored Programs office
Two new staff members will have joined the Office for Sponsored Programs by the end of next month.

Kim Wright joined OSP Jan. 4 as a grants specialist II. Wright has had several years of experience within the Office of the Vice President for Research already, working in the Office of Communications on major OVPR publications.

She has her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has worked for five years as fellowships coordinator for the Spencer Foundation in Chicago prior to joining UGA. At the Spencer Foundation, she handled more than 600 pre-doctoral and post-doctoral fellowship applications and awards.

Barbara Parnell will join OSP on Feb. 14 as a grants officer. Parnell has more than 30 years of direct experience in pre-award and post-award research administration, all at Florida State University.

Proficient in contract and subcontract negotiation, work flow management, and supervision, Parnell assisted in compiling FSU’s indirect cost proposals and she prepared that institution’s annual NSF research and development expenditure reports.
