Nine-year-old Roshawn Sims, a fourth grader at Fourth Street Elementary School, works with friends and Jamie Hamblin, a UGA sophomore in English and international affairs, to remove overgrowth at the cemetery. Volunteers also cleaned and planted trees on the North Oconee River Greenway.
The MLK Day of Service was coordinated by the King Celebration Committee.
Carol Myers, an employee at Athens Tech, was one of the volunteers at Gospel Pilgrim Cemetery.
