Forum will focus on ways communities can achieve diversity
The university will hold a Spring Diversity Forum on Feb. 28 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in the Reception Hall of the Tate Student Center. The forum is free and open to the public but registration is required by Feb. 26.

University receives 20 regional CASE awards for its advancement work
UGA received a total of 20 awards in the 2005 Council for the Advancement and Support of Education District III advancement awards competition. Overall UGA units received one grand award, six awards of excellence and 13 special merit wards.

Charles Knapp, former president, will join university’s Institute of Higher Education
Former UGA President Charles B. Knapp is coming back to the university—this time as a teacher.
101-year-old alumna comes back to campus
An alumna of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences who celebrated her 101st birthday earlier this month, Ella Nuite looks over the women on the Honor Hall of Fame recognition display in Dawson Hall during a recent visit to campus.

The search for a new dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences has been narrowed to three finalists.

Open house will provide information on degree programs in Gwinnett
Prospective students interested in learning about degree programs offered by the University of Georgia at Gwinnett will be able to attend an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Gwinnett University Center in Lawrenceville.

Mary Stakes is ready to perform CPR. Civic CPR, that is. In her new role as state coordinator for the nationally sponsored Civic Mission in Schools, she is organizing efforts to revive Georgia students’ understanding of citizenship, participation and -responsibility.

The university will soon launch a new Web service for members of the UGA community who have a disability. Called a text transcoder, the new software will be able to produce clear text-only pages for all pages on the uga.edu site.
