Journal software
A software program to automate editorial administration of scholarly journals will be described at the spring quarter meeting of the University Journal Editors Group at noon May 14 in room 205 of the journalism building.
The software, Automation of Journal Review, was developed by a university group under the direction of James Fletcher, associate vice president for academic affairs, and supported by a grant from the office of William Prokasy. Shefali Dhar, a master's student, and James Potter of the department of computer science, who worked with Fletcher in AJAR's development, will explain how the software works.
Editorial staff members of scholarly and professional journals produced on campus are invited to the meeting. Those attending may bring their own lunches; a dessert will be served. Reservations are not necessary. For more information, contact co-chair Sylvia McLaurin, Independent Study, 542-3243, or co-chair Wally Eberhard, journalism, 542-5033.
