The demonstration was part of a career panel for incoming juniors in the recreation and leisure studies program. “We thought inviting some alumni who hold ‘out-of-the-norm’ jobs was a great living metaphor for showing the ‘sky is the limit’ for career options with a recreation and leisure studies degree,” said Gwynn Powell, an associate professor in the counseling and human development services department, who organized the demonstration.

Hanging in there

Visitors to the intramural fields were recently treated to a hang gliding demonstration that was part of a recreational and leisure studies course for incoming juniors in the program.
