College of Education professor Merrily Dunn received the Research and Publication Award from the Association of College and University Housing Officers International. The award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to scholarly literature related to the university housing profession.
Dunn, an associate professor in the counseling and human development services department, is coordinator of the master’s program in college student affairs administration. She teaches classes in student development theory, legal issues and staff supervision. Additionally, she oversees internship students working in residence halls.
ACUHO-I is a professional association dedicated to supporting the collegiate residential experience. It has a membership of nearly 6,000 individuals from more than 900 colleges and universities, who serve 1.8 million students worldwide.

Maureen Grasso |
Maureen Grasso, dean of the Graduate School, has been installed as vice president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air
Conditioning Engineers.
As one of four vice presidents, Grasso is a member of the board of directors and serves as vice chair of the Publishing and Education Council. In 2005, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the international organization. She also serves on the board of governors for the Atlanta chapter of ASHRAE and was instrumental in starting a new student branch at UGA.
Keith Herist, clinical assistant professor in the College of Pharmacy, was named Distinguished Young Pharmacist by the Georgia Pharmacy Association at the 131st GPhA annual convention.

Herist currently serves the Georgia Pharmacy Association as a member of Pharm–PAC, the GPhA board of directors and the audit committee. He is also a member of the American Pharmacists Association, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and AIDS Athens Inc., where he serves as treasurer and volunteers.
College of Education professor Bryan
McCullick received the 2006 Mabel Lee Award from the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
An associate professor of kinesiology and graduate coordinator of the health and physical education teacher education program, McCullick researches teacher preparation and the effectiveness of instructor certification programs.

Lynn Vos, Savannah area director for the UGA Small Business Development Center, was awarded the 2006 Helen V. Head Business Advocate Award.
