Carter conference planning enters final stages

Members of the planning committee for the 30th anniversary of the inauguration of Jimmy Carter met Jan. 9 to finalize plans. Taking part in a discussion about security are (from left): Elizabeth Beckett, Kathy Pharr, Pat Allen, Becca Atchison, Carol Carey, Karin Usry and Jimmy Williamson. Registration for the Jan. 19 academic portion of “The Carter Presidency: Lessons for the 21st Century” conference has been closed. Space is still available for the Jan. 20 and Jan. 21 portions of the program. Anyone who registers for those two days still will be able to attend the Jan. 19 reception for former Vice President Walter Mondale and his wife, Joan, at the Georgia Center. (Photo by Peter Frey)
