Password deadline
The deadline for all UGA students, faculty and staff to change their MyID password to a strong password is Jan. 31.

In accordance with university policy, all MyID passwords must be changed to comply with a set of security standards that make passwords difficult to guess or compromise, thus protecting users against unauthorized access to their e-mail and other accounts.

Anyone who has not changed his or her password by Feb. 1 will not be able to access services that require the MyID.

The Web site to change your MyID password http://myid.uga.edu.

Open house
The new Center for Integrative Conservation Research will launch this week with an information session Jan. 29 from 3–5 p.m. in Room B-2 of the main library. It will also host an open house on Feb. 2 from 3–5 p.m. in New College.

Miss UGA Pageant
The 2007 Miss University of Georgia Scholarship Pageant will be held Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts auditorium. Tickets are $8 for UGA students and $10 for all others. They can be purchased in advance at the cashier’s window of the Tate Student Center [(706) 542-8514] or at the Fine Arts Building box office on the evening of the pageant.

Sponsored by the Student Government Association, the pageant is an official preliminary pageant for the Miss America Organization. Miss UGA 2007 will compete in the Miss Georgia Pageant in June. The winner of that pageant will go on to represent Georgia in the 2008 Miss America Pageant.

Scholarship information
The Honors Program will present an information session on major scholarships Feb. 7 from 3:45– 4:45 p.m. in the Chapel.

The presentation will discuss the role of major collegiate and postgraduate scholarships in students’ academic and professional development.

The program will include overviews of the Fulbright, Goldwater, Marshall, National Security Education Program, Rhodes and Truman scholarships.

Students should have a G.P.A. of 3.70 or higher to be competitive for these scholarships.

The program is open to both Honors and non-Honors students.
