Benefit fund established
A fund has been established to provide financial assistance to the family of late graduate student Yongsheng Li, who had been missing for two weeks when he was found dead on March 25.

This fund is only for donors residing in the U.S.; a separate fund is being established in Li’s home country of China for anyone there who wishes to make a contribution.

Checks made payable to the Yongsheng Li Benefit Fund should be mailed to: SunTrust Bank, 180 Gaines School Road, Athens, GA 30605.

Learning in retirement meeting
Learning in Retirement will hold its annual meeting April 13 at the Holiday Inn-Express at 513 W. Broad St. from at 10 a.m.–noon.

Officers and board members will be elected. The presentations will include goals for the organization’s future, budget information and a review of the past year.

Service-learning fellow applications
The Office of Service-Learning is accepting applications for the 2007–08 Service-Learning Fellows Program. The deadline to register is April 30.

This year-long faculty development program provides an opportunity for selected members to investigate, develop, implement and integrate service-learning into their teaching, research and public service work while becoming recognized campus leaders in service-learning pedagogy and community engagement.

Fellowship applications are accepted during the spring semester each year in a competitive review process and include a $2,500 award.
