Atlanta Ballet will perform Feb. 1 in Fine Arts Theatre

The Performing Arts Center presents the Atlanta Ballet on Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on Baldwin Street. Tickets are $34 and $29, and half price for students.

The Atlanta Ballet’s program is scheduled to include “Serenade,” choreographed by George Balanchine to music by Tchaikovsky; “Hyperspace,” choreographed by Ivan Pulinkala to music by James Horner; and “Ramblin’ Suite,” choreographed by Diane Coburn Bruning to music by the Red Clay Ramblers.

A pre-concert lecture will be given by John McFall, artistic director of the Atlanta Ballet. The lecture, which begins at 7:15 p.m., is open to the public.

EXHIBITIONS.
The Lamar Dodd School of Art Galleries will present White on White, a solo exhibition by artist Anya Kivarkis, on view from Jan. 29­–Feb. 29 at Broad Street Gallery.

The opening of the exhibition will include a Visiting Artist/Scholar Lecture Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 102 of the Student Learning Center. It will be followed by a reception for Kivarkis at Broad Street Gallery from 7–9 p.m.

With White on White, Kivarkis, a visiting assistant professor in metals and jewelry at the University of Oregon, interprets and reconsiders a wealth of visual evidence from the history of jewelry design with a particular focus on the baroque period.
